Adventure Film Festival, NIN and Bounty Boat

Ocean’s 14 directed by Stuart Kershaw and produced by Euros Jones-Evans has won best film at this years adventure film festival fending off strong competition form the likes of Jack Osbourne’s Adrenaline Junkie Series. Ocean’s 14 won the the Jury Award and has since been picked up for distribution by the Documentary Channel in the USA. The film screened at Leicester Square¹s Vue cinema in front of celebrities and members of the public and will now go on tour screening at over 40 cinemas across the country.

Natasha Pasiewicz music video screened to a private audience in central London earlier this month, her take on NIN classic Me, I¹m not is a visually stunning, haunting exploration of obsession and the inner, labrynthal workings of the human mind.

The Bounty Boat landed in Kupang earlier this week after 48days at sea replicating Captain Bligh¹s own historic voyage. International press from around the world greeted the team who are only the third in history to attempt the endeavour. Captain Don McIntyre has led his 4-man crew across 4000 miles of perilous open ocean in a 25ft open whale boat, surviving of starvation rations and rain water.. In the Dark Productions has been there every step of the way, commissioned to document the intrepid teams exploits from Tonga at mutiny site right through to West Timor and eventual salvation.

World First: Mission Accomplished

In The Dark will be documenting the trials and tribulations of three intrepid individuals running around the world in six weeks time. The combined US/UK team raising money to build an Orphanage in Uganda will travel to Antarctica on March 9th where they will run the first of 7 marathons, in 7 days on 7 separate continents in their attempt to set an unbeatable new world record. C4 Talent Awards update

Director Stuart Kershaw was announced as the runner up in Channel 4’s national talent competition on Friday, in the documentary feature category for The Calling. C4’s commissioning editor Sarah Mulvey said,

“This was original and innovative film-making tackling a timely subject. On-screen authorship can be difficult to pull-off, but it worked here, and there were some really compelling scenes. This was the judges’ second choice – because they valued the imaginative ambition of what was being attempted.”

Stuart was thrilled just to be nominated and to come in as the judges second choice is absolutely fantastic. Of course, he’ll be looking to go one better next year!

The Calling Official selection at Victoria Film festival

The Calling will have it’s Oceanic premier next month at the Victoria Film Festival in Australia taking the festival tally up to fourteen for the award winning film by director Stuart Kershaw. Channel 4 Talent Update!

In the Dark’s director Stuart Kershaw is one of five finalists in Channel 4’s nationwide talent hunt C4 Talent. He features in the Documentary category along with four other hopefuls. The lucky winner will receive a full-spread interview and photoshoot in the November issue of 4Talent magazine, and a nationwide press push backed by Channel 4.
